Are you having trouble finding a Vision CP1290 Battery? Don’t worry, you are not the only one. They are the 12v 7ah scooter battery, 12v 8ah scooter battery and the 12v 9ah scooter battery which are all the same size batteries with F2 terminals. All of these will work as a 12 Volt Scooter Battery, but which one is best? Bigger is better, so the 12 Volt Scooter Battery with 9ah will give you the longest cycle life, which means you’ll be able to ride longer every time you take it out and maybe get a few more months out of your Scooter Battery. However, the 12v 8ah Scooter Battery is the most commonly used sealed lead acid (SLA) battery in America, which means the 8 amp hour battery is the most produced and the best value at the price of $16.22 vs the 12 Volt Scooter Battery with 9 amp-hours at $25.56. The 7 Amp battery is outdated and cost $17.02 so there is zero reason to purchase a 12v 7ah battery for your scooter.

Some important things to remember for wet acid batteries are: Do not allow plates to be exposed to air and do not fill the water all the way up to the cap. Do not use water with a high mineral content. You should use only distilled or deionised water.

Check water levels in each cell of each battery weekly to ensure that the leaded plates in the battery are submerged in liquid. Don’t fill the cell all the way up — add just enough water to cover the plates.

UB1280 12v 8ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery

The UB1280 is one of the most popular small sealed lead acid batteries on the market, it shares the same size and use as the 12v 7ah and 12v 7.2 amp hour batteries as interestingly these were the precursor to the ub1280. The UB1270 (pictured below) while once very popular has fallen out of favor with customers as you can obtain an additional amp-hour in the UB1280 at a lower cost because of the economies of scale (more UB1280′s are produced, therefore they are cheaper).
